Eros Jaffee, a Freshman, has won four prestigious awards in the regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Program.
This Program is distinct for not only being the nation’s longest running but most prestigious recognition program for creative teens.
Eros’ four awards consist of one Silver Key and three Honorable Mentions Awards. The Silver Key Award is for the watercolor work titled Protein. There are three pieces of artwork which all received Honorable Mention Awards. Two are digital art pieces: Transition and Undead while the third is a watercolor titled Serious Woman.
The award winning artist loves the art program at John Jay referring to both visual arts and performing arts. Eros is excited to continue the AP art track. He also acted in the Freshman Play and knows that Music Technology classes are in his future. Eros is also a Current Member of the KLSD ArtsAlive Student Board as Representative of the Visual Arts.
While the winning pieces of artwork were done at home, Eros is appreciative to John Jay Fine Arts teacher, Kristen Lowe for her ideas and advice.
Currently, in Studio Art and Design, Eros is creating a chess set in clay, making all 32 pieces by hand.
